An Amazing Responsibility

I simply do not allow for leeway.

“My career in aviation stems from 20 years of service in the Louisiana Army National Guard. My initial training job was maintaining ground surveillance systems for military intelligence, but the old Army equipment was phased out during my first year of service. I was reclassed as a Power Generation Repairer for the military intelligence unit I was attached to. That position transitioned to Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and I trained to be an Maintainer. I was hooked and felt that I had found what I was meant to do.

“My platoon focused on the Army and Textron Systems Shadow 200 platform, touring in Kuwait, Iraq, and Syria. Additionally, I worked on Blackhawk, Lakota, and Kiowa helicopters. I’ve held every maintenance position a soldier can in an aviation unit including Crew Chief, Technical Inspector, Production Manager, Quality Manager, Operation’s Non-Commission Officer, and Platoon Sergeant,” said Anthony.

In 2015, while maintaining his Guard enlistment, Anthony decided to pursue opportunities in civilian aviation through on-the-job-training at Precision Heliparts – Louisiana where he obtained an FCC License and Repairman Certificate.

Anthony mastered all PHP Louisiana repairs shops as a bench technician, including Level 2 NDT Certifications for Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Eddy Current Inspections. He has held the positions of Materials Manager, Production Manager, Chief Inspector, and now Quality Manager.

“From the start, I knew that PHP Louisiana would be a place where I could thrive and grow, mostly due to the family environment and commitment to excellence. I wanted to be a leader in promoting these values and made it a point to give everything I had, regardless of my position, to help drive PAG forward successfully,” said Anthony.

As Quality Manager, it’s Anthony’s responsibility to ensure PHP-Louisiana shops produce quality products that meet Federal Aviation Regulation standards.

“I simply do not allow for leeway. Everything we work on, sell, or exchange, is going on an aircraft that has someone’s family member or friend on it. What an amazing responsibility, being trusted by our customers to perform MRO services on their components to keep their employees and customers safe. There is nothing more important.

“It’s clear to me that everyone “punching-in” at PAG is getting in the saddle to live our Mission Statement. You can see this through our turn time data, our repair station warranty record, and our lengthy history with some of the world’s major operators. They could choose anyone else, but they keep coming back to PAG because they’re going to get airworthy, reliable products produced under stringent quality standards at a reasonable cost. You can’t call many vendors about exchanging a starter generator and on the same call, buy a main rotor blade!

“In teaching and leading the next wave of PAG technical experts, I believe the best professional growth opportunities are effective for the company and personally rewarding for the employee. Continuing to grow and learn in my own role, I regularly reach out to PAG leaders who always help guide me when I have questions or need advice on how to handle situations.

“I was deployed to Syria for 13 months and was away throughout 2021. Keith Stringer and our team stayed in touch with me and checked on my family the whole time. PAG maintained my benefits and Keith assured that my career progress would not be hindered by my service. I’m forever grateful for the way I was cared for during that time,” he said.

Anthony achieved the rank of First Sergeant before retiring from the Guard in May 2024.
