Precision Aviation Services (PAS) Announces Sale of Robinson Turbine Helicopter during HAI HELI-EXPO

May 23, 2014

Peachtree City, GA – May 23, 2014 – The world’s largest helicopter trade show and exposition, the 2014 HAI HELI-EXPO, proved to be the ultimate showroom for Precision Aviation Services (PAS), a Precision Aviation Group Company (PAG) and a Robinson Helicopter dealer and service center.

The PAS team sold a top-of-the-line 2014 Robinson R66 Turbine helicopter during the Expo, which attracts more than 19,000 people involved in the rotary craft industry. The R66 Turbine, outfitted with Robinson’s new glass avionics cockpit, offers many of the company’s signature design features including a two-bladed rotor system, T-bar cyclic and open cabin configuration. The helicopter’s Rolls Royce RR300 turbo-shaft engine is specifically designed to deliver increased reserve power and improved altitude performance.

“The Expo allowed us to showcase the unique assets of the R66, which offers excellent reliability, responsive handling, and altitude performance,” says PAS President Adrienne Robinson, who is also vice president, business development, at PAG. “Of the authorized 22 U.S. dealers, PAS met the challenge to be the dealer to sell the R66 on display at the Expo. Robinson had announced that the helicopter would be available for sale at the conclusion of the show, but by the end of the first day, we were able to inform Robinson that we had a buyer ready to make a down payment.”

The HAI HELI-EXPO, the annual conference organized by the Helicopter Association International, was held Feb. 24–27 in Anaheim, Calif. Robinson Helicopter Company also introduced a new line of instrument panels and avionics for the R66 and two other models, R22 and R44. The new line offers as optional equipment Garmin’s GTN 600/700 touch-screen navigators and Aspen Avionics’ Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multifunction Display (MFD) systems.

“The R66, Robinson’s largest and most powerful model, was designed as a reasonably priced, low-maintenance, high-performance turbine helicopter that would fill the emerging void in the turbine helicopter market,” says Les Gillespie, Robinson Helicopter Sales Manager for PAS. “This R66 was very heavily optioned for everyone to see and experience at the Expo. It will be delivered to the new owner mid-April 2014.”
PAS sells and services R22, R44 and R66 model Robinson Helicopters at its facility located at Falcon Field at the Atlanta Regional Airport (KFFC) in Peachtree City, Ga. PAS also performs avionics installs/upgrades, airframe maintenance and MRO services for a variety of fixed and rotary wing aircraft in addition to Robinson.
