OUR STORY

Prime Turbines was established in 1984 in Hyannis, Massachusetts to serve the maintenance and repair needs of Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A owners and operators by providing high-quality affordable services. From those early beginnings on Cape Cod, the company established a loyal customer base and an industry reputation for workmanship and customer service.

In 2008, Prime Turbines was acquired by Killick Capital and the MRO operations of Avatas Engine Support Services in Dallas, Texas were merged under the Prime Turbines name.

Since the merger, Prime Turbines has expanded by adding a Regional Turbine Center (RTC) near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to service PT6A engines.  

In 2014, Prime Turbines opened a MRO Facility in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa, Arizona to provide MRO services for the PT6A and PT6T turbines and their various applications. 

Prime Turbines became a proud member of Pacific Turbine Brisbane (PTB) Group in 2020, adding to the Australian-based aviation part sales and services company’s capabilities along with locations in Brisbane (Australia), Pacific Turbine USA (Miami), and International Air Parts (Sydney). The addition of Prime Turbines expanded PTB’s MRO services global presence in the PT6A, PT6T, and TPE331 engine markets. 

In December 2022, PTB Group was acquired by Atlanta-based Precision Aviation Group, Inc. (PAG), a leading provider of products and value-added services to the aerospace and defense industries. PAG shares Prime Turbines customer-focused business model and understands the importance of high-quality MRO services companies in the PT6 markets.
