Keystone Turbine Services Powers 2024 Teledyne FLIR Vision Award Winners

August 26, 2024

During the Airborne Public Safety  Association (APSCON) annual convention held recently in Houston, Texas, the closing festivities on August 1, included the highly anticipated Teledyne FLIR (Forward Looking InfraRed) Vision Awards.

The event spotlights members of the airborne law enforcement community who have best demonstrated the use of various thermal imaging systems in carrying out their public safety missions. Whether pursuing suspects, conducting search and rescue efforts, or saving lives, these videos represent the very best of airborne law enforcement as chosen by FLIR.

The winning videos are divided into five categories: 1st; 2nd and 3rd place; Hot Pursuit; Life Saver and FANG Awards. During the presentation, two of five Vision Award winners were powered by engines supported through Keystone Turbine Services (KTS), Coatesville, Pennsylvania:

  • Vision Award Second Place – Prince George’s County Police Department (MD)
  • FANG Award: Houston Police Department (TX) (K-9 gets bad guy)

“The ballroom was filled with APSCON attendees eagerly anticipating the annual event, including lively narratives and use of a T-shirt cannon provided by APSCON,” said Chuck Hurdleston, Vice President, Sales and Services – Keystone Turbine Services.

“It’s humbling to think,” said Chuck, “that if we didn’t do our job, these aircraft wouldn’t be able to provide real-time aerial surveillance.”

The highlight of the evening was the moment the K-9 from Houston Police brought down the bad guy ─ the crowd erupted in cheers and high-fives. “I was proud to know that Keystone was part of both missions,” concluded Chuck.
